National Symposium

It has been 36 years since the field Rural Management (RM) was established. Initially the focus of RM was on cooperatives. Over the period, management of non-profit organizations, microfinance, agri-business, and other rural development initiative have been included in this field. It is not just the portfolio of RM that has evolved over time, but there is a paradigm shift too. Significant body of knowledge has been added in the field due to development in specific thematic areas. Number of innovative approaches have been tried out and the practice of RM today stands apart. However, in present time several issues need deliberation to guide the practitioner and professional in this field. This includes, emerging changes in rural landscape dealing with innovations and challenges across thematic areas; and scope and space for networking RM professionals.
